Buckeye Birth Coalition is a grassroots organization that can only grow with support from advocates like you.
Whether you are a parent, midwife, or birth-adjacent professional, we need your support to make Ohio a safer state to give birth.

Safer birth goes
beyond physical care.
It involves personal autonomy, emotional and spiritual support, parental empowerment, flexibility to allow physiologic birth, patience, lactation knowledge, and several weeks of attentive, postpartum care.
MIDWIVES ARE TRAINED IN ALL OF THESE ASPECTS.
Midwifery care has shown time and again to improve birth outcomes in low risk pregnancies. Beyond this, midwives are also highly trained in recognizing pregnancy complications, communicating with obstetricians when necessary, and providing optimal newborn care.
By ensuring that trained midwives receive the licensing that they deserve and are able to run freestanding birth centers in Ohio, you are supporting quality access to prenatal and postpartum care for mothers and babies across our state, including for BIPOC families who would otherwise have suboptimal perinatal care.
